Laying hens
Layer diets are formulated differently from starter diets, including the calcium needed for egg production. Age, laying status and the rest of the diet matter.
Mixed flock
Ducks, geese and mixed-age flocks may call for a different program than a pen of laying hens. Ask before assuming one bag fits every bird.
Game birds
Game-bird starter, grower and breeder programs are staged for different points in development and production.

Hubbard says its Homestead poultry feeds are made with 100% organic trace minerals, prebiotics, probiotics and enzymes. In this context, āorganic trace mineralsā describes the form of the trace minerals; it does not mean the feed is USDA Certified Organic.
The practical point is that Hubbard is building the feeding program around mineral utilization and digestive support, not just crude protein. That gives Farm Choice something useful to explain when a customer is choosing between layer, starter and game-bird feeds.
